How does dental tourism work?
1) Contact It all begins when the patient contacts us via various Facebook, WhatsApp or telephone channels. Right from the start it will be Dr. Oxa who personally calls most of the patients to give technical explanations, while for the organizational aspects they are dedicated people.
2) Treatment plan The doctor after receiving information on the patient’s situation, photos of the teeth or dental overview, prepares a video explaining the individualized treatment. Compared to other dentists in Albania Dr. Oxa provides not only a quote, but a detailed explanation via a video.
3) Estimate If the patient wants to go ahead with that treatment plan, an estimate is made, which is definitive, therefore without changes in costs after the clinic visit. Each additional procedure due to the implementation of the treatment plan will have no additional costs.
4) Treatment planning Based on the availability of the clinic and the patient, a period is determined for starting the treatment. Our staff makes the reservation of the plane ticket for the patient.
5) Arrival in Tirana, Albania At the airport, the driver will be waiting for each patient with a card where the patient’s name is written. After the meeting, the patient will be accompanied to the hotel.
6) After the clinic visit, the treatment plan is confirmed and the treatment begins.
What are the most frequent treatments?
There are many treatments but most patients require commercial dental implant techniques:
- All-On-4 It is a technique that consists in the total removal of an arch with 4 dental implants and metal-ceramic or resin teeth. This type of arch must be made with these materials, as the prosthesis must be light and elastic to be supported by only 4 implants. This is an inexpensive technique that costs €2000-2500 per arch but has a much shorter duration than other techniques.
- All-On-6 The All-On-6 technique allows total rehabilitation of the arch with 6 dental implants, which are strategically positioned to support an arch in zirconium, which is the best material that can exist for this kind of work. The cost varies from €3,000 to €3,500 per arch and lasts more than 20 years.
- All-On-8 The technique is very rarely used as sometimes it is not necessary. In analogy, 8 implants are used to support the dental arch. It is used in extreme cases of dysmorphia of the dental arch. Costs range from €3,500-4,000 per arch. The duration is more than 20 years.
- All-On-X, a modern concept born in the United States that takes into consideration individual factors of the patient and the anatomy of the arches to establish the number of implants needed for an arch. According to this concept, each patient needs a certain number of implants per arch (5-7) in order to guarantee a result for life. The cost is fixed €3700 per arch.
